    Okay, you're a PEST! :)

Well, I went to DRILL the tank and I don't have the right drill!! Mine doesn't have a dial to adjust the speed, so I have to borrow one that has the dial thing.

Can't do it tomorrow - busy, busy! Football games and all that fun.

Huh? I've never seen a drill that has a dial for adjusting the speed. A dial (clutch) for adjusting how much torque it will apply before the clutch slips, yes. A speed dial, no. Every single drill I've ever seen/used has it's speed controlled by how far you pull the trigger. Lightly squeezing the trigger, low speed. Fully squeezing the trigger, high speed. As for the clutch mechanism, I've never used it with anything I've screwed, so I don't think it's necessary. I've found that the less you squeeze the trigger, the less torque it applies, so I use the trigger as the clutch. YMMV.

    Now get that tank drilled!

Yeah Kacy! your just making excuses now.
    1. the clutch that you turn up top is variable but will not "stop" it from going fast.
    2. the trigger is where you ultimately control speed.
    3. now get to it KACY!!!

Without a clutch, you can control the speed that the chuck or spindle turn, but if you don't have the clutch set low, the drill bit can catch on the glass as you are drilling and crack the glass. With a clutch, if the bit catches it will not let the chuck turn....it just clicks. I work with power tools on a dialy basis. It can be done without the clutch of course, but beter off if you have one! ;)
