I dose and test for everything, so I'm pretty sure it was the SG. But it's all under control now, and I've setup a doser for the top off.

    Thanks for the help!

Well since the general hobbyist jumped on to the refugium idea Its been getting more and more complicated I think.. And then when the 24/7 lighting hit I knew that was going to be issues with dead fuge grasses and it was.

I have never been a dowser or user of a bunch of supplements other then Kalk in fact most would be better off and having less problems by not using the stuff . I do add calcium and carbonates as I run mine way way above the limits experts say not to.

I have used the old Caulerpa 's the feather and bubble for more then 15 yrs and I have not to this day ever had one crash. I tried the cheado crap and thats about all it is..as far as removing fertilizers from my waters.

Now I have had salinity swings from broken and blown tank seams pump seals with large salinity swings never a problem. The two major causes of refugium crashes I have garnered from all who I personally know where

    1. Large Carbonate swings not so much P.H
    2. Lighting them 24/7 So since yours tweaked and went from healthy to dead in a few days and all you changed was lighting them 24/7 first I'd ask why ? and secondly would bet that was the cause . Most I knew who lost theirs to 24/7 lighting was due to a hung up salted soaked cheap timer then there where the ones who thought the 24/7 lighting would make the tanks cleaner ?

I only keep the fuge light on for 12 hours a day, the timer I had at the time was not working and it was left on for about 2 days.
This has happened before though without anything dieing.

I only dose what levels are low, I always test before I add anything, and I never have to does all that much.
