I too would drill the 29g. I did this with a 20g. It is pretty simple. There are plenty of videos on Youtube. Take just a few minutes. Mine was the same kind of setup where the fuge was mounted above the sump and I let gravity drain it back to the sump. I also had teed and ball valved my drain line to feed the fuge. No extra pumps is nice. I since have gone to a sump/fuge in one design, just to save space. But the other way worked well.

Mine is set up to Tangster style ....and works great ...all gravity flow in and out ...no additional pumps needed ...just check valves to regulate the flows....very simple once you get the initial plumping installed. I would highly recommend this way of doing it. I have 1" PVC feeding to a to a 3/4 bulkhead...and 1" outlet..all gravity flow. The 3/4 inlet bulkhead restricts a little but provides a little forced flow into tank. ( and I wanted to try it before I just drilled it out to 1" )

I have a question from another post that hasen't been answered? Is it necessary to have circulation in the fuge, say a power head or Koralina .....other then the initial gravity flow coming in? I have a 1200 max-jet in mine currently...and its a pain to keep it clean....so if its necessary...then will be moving it to sump!!
