I have not used that bulb, but the specs on it say it should be fine. 23 watts 6500K color temp...
Have you tried dosing a small amount of iron? Algae can use up the iron in the tank and be iron limited.

What kind of "greens" are we talking about? How big is the fuge?

    This is what I got....

but...this fuge used from a guy, works great, bubble trap in wrong side; but skimmer don't spit bubbles...no biggie. The chaddo (my wife is typing for me) :p was 5x bigger when i put it in the fuge.... I got the greens from a guy on a local site. Talked to a guy at the LFS and he said "sometimes this happens". And said to take it out and wait a month, so,....is it a difference in water quality that is causing my decay?? I got RODI filter; was running a wet/dry and because the wet/dry was next to the tank and I plumbed the fuge through the wall and lower than the wet/dry the water level would not equal out, so I had to remove the wet/dry completely. Everything looks great if not better. If you need I can send pics of the DT. Hope this helps.

I also had a problem with my chateu shrinking. But what i discovered is that there was a skim coat on the water surface in the fuge blocking some of the light. Because my water level was too high the water wasnt spilling over the top of the baffel it was too far over the baffel and the water was flowing under the surface, if that makes sence to you.

yes, there was a little skim but, read that that was normal, and that it is supposed to be a sweltering swamp. Since last post all greens have been removed, as for they were dead. Thinking maybe a different type may work better? Any input?

Sounds like you might have been trying to grow calurpa, which can have "problems" I would highly suggest using chaetomorpha for the "greens"

Looks like chaeto in the pics. I dont see any reason this would happen.

i would also reccomend the use or supplementing iron and other trace elements such as Mg, Strontium and iodine

but mainly the iron for the greens growth

You are correct it does look like chaeto, just does not sound like how chaeto grows.

My only other guess is you don't have enough light on the tank.

When it comes to suppliments, Iron can be limiting in algea growth, but Iodine,Magnesium and strontium, are not limiting nutrients in normal algae growth.

If you decide to dose Iron start very slowly, since in iron in a limiting nutrient, you could get other algae blooms as you add more iron to the system. For any other supplements, if you don't have a test kit, I will say do not dose it.
