    What kind of inexpensive bulb can I buy from Lowes that will work for my 10 gallon fuge? Im talkin' cheap here.

    Any ideas?

    any 15 watt PC screw in bulb would work. Its what i use.....

    only 15watts? I was thinkin' more along the lines of like 60... I heard sylvanias make good bulbs for this, is that true?

    any white or yellowish bulb is fine...let me check my bulb....and remember, a 15watt CF is equal to a 60 watt incandescent :)

    mine is actually 13 watts :) GE i believe :)

    I'm using the 23 watt Sylvania Daylight bulb from Lowes. Cost was $5.88 and is a 6500k color. That's the best color for a fuge (you don't want anything that says "soft white", as that's a color range of 2500k-3500k, and you will get better growth from the 6500k color). You could also purchase a 2pk from Walmart for $6.97. Same 23 watt rating and same 6500k color. Made by GE. That's probably where I'll buy my replacements.

    I use a clip on 5 inch aluminum fixture (also from Lowes) that only cost $5.88 (if I remember correctly).
