Just wanted to give you all an update on the LED light I bought for my fuge. I used it for about a month and saw no growth in my cheato. I then harvested some mangroves and those showed no growth either. I replaced the LED panel with a regular 4-5k 150w equivalent bulb from home depot and the mangroves started to grow leaves, but the chaeto never grew. I wouldnt recommend buying one of these, it just doesnt put out enough light. When i turn the LED light on, and then the regular bulb, the regular bulb drowns out all the light produced by the LED panel almost to where you dont even realize its on unless your looking directly at the panel.

Just wanted to post a pic of what my refugium looks like today.

For some reason I have been having a lot of trouble getting chaeto to grow, but my mangroves are really doing well.

I'm getting ready to set up my reef tank I also purchase a home depot bulb similar to yours. Is that not working for you or were you refering to the led fixture??

sorry for the slow response. The LED fixture is the one that is inefficient for growth. Your much better off with a cheap CFL light from your local hardware store.
