I am turning a 10gal tank into a fuge for my 55. The whole tank is going to be a fuge, i am putting a small pump (like 200gph - lift + ball valve) in my sump to pump up to the fuge then gravity back down into the sump. I have 2 20w fluorescent strips that came with the 55 laying around. Could I mount these two strips over the fuge and provide enough lighting for macro and mangroves or would I need more light?

Two 20 watt strips will be good enough for your fuge.

Awesome, i will just buy some plant bulbs for it once i get the fuge up and going. I will try and start on it this weekend, i am just scared about drilling the hole on the side for my drain. I know glass isn't always so forgiving.

Just go slow and use a light touch. Take your time.

also its better for ur fuge to get raw tank water for ur macros and pods to do great why dont u just tee off the overflow to the fuge and then down to ur sump

well I can do that now but i was debating upgrading to this pre-drilled 75 I found. If i go that route I will have to re-plumb it because i don't think the top of the fuge will be lower than the outlet of the overflow.
