fuge mud help pleASE

    I BOUGHT A HOB FUGE, used
    it was filled with miracle mud...but it was dry....
    can i just add water and use it or...??
    the lfs sales dum dum said it was fine, but im not into killing my tank...

    I wouldn't think it would be as nutrient rich now.

    oh thats no so bad ,, is itgoing to hurt anything is the question.
    lol its just nice to hold the blade type algae down....

    I would set the fuge up in a closed loop expecting it to cycle. I don't think you'll have to replace the mud but it'll take a bit to get back to full efficiency.

    Yes, you can use it, It was dirt at one time and dry, It stil has all the nutrients in it, what i would do personally is take it out add some fresh salt water and put a powerhead on it for a few days, I have reused my mud before and had NO problems what so ever.

    the only reason why I ask is I had the same issue as him and I used freshly mixed saltwater and ran a powerhead on it and everything was fin after a few days? it worked for me but I dont want to point him in the wrong direction if you disagree with me.
