Well, no, but I have a RSM250 and know how.

Why do you want to use a fuge? Are you planning to keep all SPS?

If not, there's no real reason to use a fuge.

The biggest problem with a RSM when dealing with a fuge/sump is that the stand they sell for it isn't built to accommodate a sump, and neither is the backsump they have built on to the tank. It has that center divider, which makes it impossible to put anything bigger than a 10 gallon other than a cube in there.

Now, if you're just doing it for a fuge, a 10g might be enough to be worth it. But since you're doing it for SPS, I imagine you'd want a sump setup with a better skimmer than the stock one, and room to install reactors (GFO in particular, and maybe calcium). At that point, it becomes pretty hard to get everything together for that. You've also eliminated 90% of the point of getting a RSM too lol.

I've seen people who rebrace the stand with steel rebar and cut out from the center divider to fit a big sump (think 25 gallons), but none of them had the tank already running when they did that.

You also need to make an overflow, and will likely need to cut some of the back plastic in order to fit the tubing. Some people have used the accessory kit, taking both 5/8" outlets and using them together to make their overflow, then sent their return line back on the other side where the extra cooling fans are. The other overflows I've seen are from LifeReef, and they fit in to the skimmer compartment. Then you can use the hole for the accessory kit to run the return line.

i bought it as a space saving issue as i moved out of the family casa and into the unit that i bought, although at the time i bought i was under the impression that it would handle sps fine... the main reason i brought up the pods is cause i always wanted a mandarin fish.. the space i have could easily warrant a 6 foot tank but thats not gonna happen for at least a year so i think i will just deal with what i have can you look at this link and make some sense of this thing that claims to be a fuge Octopus Eco 400 i really wanna have happy mandarin fish if i have to sacrifice sps for a year i can handle that but i dont think i can wait n e longer for my mandarin lol im not crazy just know what i want

That octopus won't fit on the RM250 without some modification.

That's going to be the story with nearly anything you think of doing with a RSM.
