Fuge plans sanity check

I tried to do something similar with my original setup with the fuge draining into a 10 gallon sump below it, in the end it was more work than it was worth, I could not get enough flow to prevent air bubbles in the U tube for the overflow to the sump and also had a layer of scum constantly forming on the surface of the fuge so I ripped it all out and redid the sump with the skimmer compartment on the left and the fuge on the right. Both overflow to the center chamber and get pumped to the skimmer and the DT.

i just setup my 40gal long the same way....

 

telgar makes a good point if your are using a U-tube overflow. I drilled my 10 gal and put a bulkhead connector in it to avoid the bubble and low flow issue.
