Fuge Question

    I just finished my new sump with refugium. I have a HUGE ball of Chaeto in my 29 right now that will be moving to the new sump when the tank cycle is complete.


    My question is do i need a sand bed in the fuge with the Chaeto? If so how deep? The fuge compartment is 9.5" deep.

    It is not necessary, but you will want it at least 4" deep if you do.

    Will pod production increase with a sand bed or is that really not going to make a difference?
