soo i am making my fuge today and bought some refugium mineral mud aswell as crush coral for the top layer..

how many inchs of each layer should i lay down??

also, once i have laid the mud and crush coral whats the best way to introduce water without creating a murky mess of water? since it will be dumping right into my live established DT.

i will have 20 gallons of saltwater ready to go, should i run freshwater through it first to flush the murkyness out before introducing my permanent tank salt water??

    thanks

I wouldn't use the crushed coral since it will trap gunk. If you want to put a layer on top of the mud just use sand.

I used sugar sized oolite in my fuge and it was very cloudy at first. Do you have a way to regulate the flow into your fuge? If so, let the fuge fill up with water and then turn off the flow to allow the dust to settle for a day. Then, start allowing just a little bit of flow to go through. Your tank my get a little clousy for a day or two but it shouldn't be a big deal.
