I know on most sumps the return section is in the middle so that the fuge water and skimmer water spill into the return section--I added a HOB fuge to my sump so I have the option to have the fuge water dump into the skimmer section (this way it would have to go through the baffles and help reduce bubbles).

Is there anything wrong with having the fuge water go into the skimmer section, then the return?

I don't see a problem with it. Most people have the fuge section and skimmer section meet in the middle because they want the fuge to have slower flow than the skimmer. Is all the water going into the skimmer section comming from the fuge section? Or is there different sources? Other than flow rates there isn't a problem in my opinion doing as you said.

No, most of the water is coming from the overflow box, but some of the water from the overflow will be going to the fuge (controlled by a ball valve). The HOB fuge has an outlet on one side, so depending on which side I put the fuge on I can have it dump into either the return section or the skimmer side. It's not a big deal either way but if I can help prevent bubbles I'll put it on the skimmer side.

I think your good to go with any way you want. You probably have the better option for eliminating bubbles and getting to adjust flow. I would go with your idea. Sounds great.
