**Updated pictures are at the bottom**

I am having the glass sheets cut at the glass shop as we speak. I am going to have them set up about like this is the picture where I drew the lines. I will be using a 30 long.

the first skimmer baffle is going to be 11" high and the return one will be 10" high. The fuge baffle will be 13" so my fuge will be 12 x 14 x 13. Im having them cut a 1" high x 4" long section out of the corner of the fuge baffle. I think this will help keep the water moving better in the fuge. Do you thin this is a good idea? Should I use gutter guard or anything to put on top of the fuge baffle or anything? Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Well no one responded so I just did what I planned and everything is siliconed in now, should I let it set for 24 or 48 hours to water test it? The silicone says that it sets in 24 hours but just want to double check. You can see in the second picture on how I notched the glass. And i was a total slob with the silicone, lol

48 might be best, I think I let mine sit for that long or longer.

I let mine set for 48 hours before I water tested it. Very nice job! ;D

that is absolutely identical to my 30 gal sump/fuge. Mine works great, you should be very happy.

edit: besides the fuge overflow. Cool idea. I dont think I have seen that before. Post more pics when you get it installed.

I water tested mine at 24 hours and had it up and running at 72. IIRC, silicone sets up anaerobically meaning it doesn't need oxygen to cure. This means it can be done under water. I wiggled my baffles after 24 hours and they were set with no give so I water tested.

Ok Well I will at least wait till my chaeto and mangroves come in which should be thursday so that will give me 48 hours. Still debating on how many inch sand bed I want, I've heard many conflicting views. :-/

At least 4 inches total I would say, not sure the benefit of more. I did 3 inches of kitty litter, 1 inch sand.

Well I got it all up and running, just got to get some sticks or something for the mangroves. I really like that I had that notch cut, and I would recommend it anyone who is going to make a fuge anytime soon. It helps the flow and circulation. My chaeto and flame algae, and mangroves all came from reef cleaners. Great service once again!

    Here are the picks!
