Hello! I have a 29g fowler tank and I was wondering what would be some fun fish for it. Really want color but I have a black painted background so you cannot really see dark fish. (Like yellowtail damsels). I really like clownfish and I think mandarin gobys are the coolest things but hard to maintain. What are some fun colorful fish? Thanks!

Chromis are really cool schooling fish, so they will be out and about. Clownfish are also good choices, as well as firefish. Just make sure to have a top for the firefish or they will definitely jump.

IMO chromis aren't good nano fish. I like dwarf angelfish.

I didn't know chromis aren't good for nano's. I already have 2 in my 29 gallon. Oh well, it's not like I can catch them lol. I've tried twice to no avail. I would say that both fish are peaceful. I added my chromis last because I bought them last :). The clowns took a day to get used to them, but they are doing fine now.

Yeah I think I'm just going to stick to clowns. And I have two yellow tail damses in the tank now. They have been in here almost a week. I was wondering if I shouls take hen and return them? I know they get very territorial.

My yellow tail bullied my clownfish after added then. I would see if you could get them out and take them in for trade or something.

Damsels are a PITA to get out of the tank and can become very aggressive, unless you somehow get lucky.
