A 29g is borderline for a dwarf angel. Flames are one of the "larger" dwarf angels and I think it would be pushing it to put one in a 29. One of the smaller dwarfs, like a flame back or cherub, would be more appropriate.

Otherwise, I'd consider a Royal Gramma, Firefish, Bangai Cardinals.

nah, i would say pretty much any dwarf angel would be permanently fine in a 29 gallon tank, of course you have to take into account the other livestock.

chromises in general swim alot more than most fish. their small size makes then able to be kept in a small tank but they are far happier in a tank where they can roam.

I absolutely agree with this. Flames need more room then a 29 gallon tank. I understand LA calls for a 30 gallon aquarium for most of the dwarf angels but IMO that is too small. A cherub would be a much better selection especially if you want to add a few other fish.;) Chromis are skiddish fish by nature and I don't feel they are a very good choice for a Nano either.

+1, a flame seems to thrive when it can hunt and peck around a lot of rock work so it can eat naturally, so to speak. A 30 will be rough to allow that happen. And it will limit what else ya can have. A cherub and 2 clowns ( a black and orange) would be cool;)

Ok. So you wouldn't recommend any dwarf angels?
