Ok, so I peered inside the canopy and I have mold growing within it. Grrrreat.

So I am gonna knock the "unfun-guys" out tomorrow with a 10% NaOCl (sodium hypoclorite) solution to destroy the fungus.

My question is: Because the canopy isn't water sealed, I am going to apply water sealant, do any of you have a preference or experience in this? I am obviously wanting something that dries and cures fast with limited vapor stage.

Seal yer canopies! And club sandwiches NOT seals!
    ;)

    Thanks for your help!

go to your local hobby store, buy some 2 part epoxy. Get the slow curing stuff so you have time to work with it. Dilute it down with 100% alcohol and brush it on. it will soak into the woods pores and make it literally water proof.

Wow Rodcpierce, I never even thought of that! Thanks! I'm gonna do that this weekend!

I have access to molecular grade 95% EtOH (ethanol)/5% MeOH (methanol), will that work? :snobby:

    Thanks! ;)

that SHOULD work. Dont thin it down too much, just enough that it is spreadable. Basically anything that will evaporate completelly should work.
