The georgia aquarium uses instant ocean for there sea salt mix;D

why so suprised? im sure they have some of the most sofisticated equipment to ensure all trace elements and nutrients are available in their water.

Your LFS probably uses Instant Ocean too. It's not due to the quality of the salt. It's because Aquarium Systems and Aqua Craft are the only companies that offer bulk salt to the industry. Instant Ocean tends to be more popular in the states. Other salts from Aqua Craft tend to be more popular overseas.

Some aquariums use treated and filtered Seawater. That would include the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Seattle Aquarium, and New England Aquarium. I'm not sure what the Monteray Bay Aquarium uses. I would guess that the Tennessee Aquarium is using an artificial salt as well. I know the World Aquarium uses Instant Ocean as does the St. Louis Zoo.

 

I say a thing on tv and moneray bay was using natural sea water that they were pumping in.
