Funny story to share with my friends.....

….As many of you already know I have a bad back, so when it comes to tank maintenance I need to minimize the work. Since my sump is located in my basement I installed a pump to drain water from my 55 gallon sump directly into a basement sump-pump pit. And another pump that delivers the new water from my RO/DI set-up.

The only hitch is that the basement sump-pit, of course, is in the floor and thus lower than my sump. I installed a tee fitting and a ball valve that I use to break the siphon once I unplug the pump – works well. The past month has been very bad health wise for me so I have my 13 year old doing the water changes – and he’s been doing a great job. Except last time he did it he forgot to close the ball valve on my siphon break – lol. So last night when he turned on the drain pump the water shot straight up at the ceiling and completely drenched him ! My wife and I are at the kitchen table and he walks in – soaking wet, sad face and in the most monotone voice simply says “Dad, you need to redesign your system. Mom, I am gunna need a towel”

My wife and I are still laughing this morning !
