Lately everything in my tank seems to be growing faster. I noticed today that my Green Slimer has grown and some branches have reached and fused to the glass. I thought this might happen but I wasn't sure. Here is a picture where you can see a branch hitting the glass and starting to flare out. Anybody know if this will stress the glass somehow?

Here is what the whole coral looks like.

Here's what it looked like when I got it 8 months ago. Note the Chiton on the glass. I haven't seen him for ages.

Doubtful. I was at a local dudes place and he literally had green monti cap pressed against and growing up the glass. He has so much when fish get spooked they break pieces off and it then those pieces start growing. Congrats on the healthy tank :)

Id say no way.... its not gonna keep growin and apply pressure to the glass. once it hits the surface its gonna grow on it now. And eventually form branches off the glass. Not nearly the amount of force the water has.

BTW very nice coral.... I see some trading in the near future ;)

True. I guess it's not going to be like a bamboo shoot and keep trying to grow and push through the glass.

The problem is I wanted to move the slimer aside so I can pull out a rock that has Xenia growing on it so I can epoxy or calk paste over the remnants after I pull them off. Darn things keep coming back when I pull them off the rock. Now I'm stuck.

I may be fragging some pieces soon. My son has a science fair coming up. We may put pieces at different heights in the tank to measure the differences in growth rates. I'd be looking to do some trading when that's all done.

Those damn xenia.... I solved my xenia problem by actually pulling the damn rock out and doused the xenia area with muriatic.... That did the trick.

Your not too far to do a good trade. Let me know.
