my solarensis hasn't lost color, in fact hes gained a bit. Im keeping him with a blueside though and they are very iffy to coexist so I think the mutual hatred keeps them pretty. I got lucky they coexist and dont show aggression. I have 2 Halichoeres coexisting just fine.

I'm thinking I might should do something similar.

royal gramma, midas blenny, sunrise dottyback, flame angel,H. malanurus, H. iridis and then a C. solorensis pair to finish the tank.

I don't have any experience with the dottyback, but otherwise, sounds fine to me. Here is the order I think I would add them in more or less:

    Both Halichoeres
    Midas Blenny
Both solorensis (hopefully you can find a female!)
    Royal Gramma
    Flame Angel
    Sunrise Dottyback

This is based on aggression and how territorial they are based on my experience.

Sunrise Dotty was the meanest fish i've ever kept.

Glad you chimed in. As I said, I have never had one (by design!). I know there are some Dottybacks known to be less aggressive, but in general, they pack a mean punch for their size.

the only dottyback if heard of a less aggressive is an orchid dotty. Great fish I will always have one (on number two in 13 years)

maybe I'd drop it then. I had a magenta dotty back and it was the first fish I have ever hated.

now what would be the best way to quarantine two wrasse of the same genus without using two tanks?
