Gahh!! Major vodka overdose!!

I actually wonder if dropping alcohol level to quick might be bad.

 

youre going to start seeing them swimming around with little brown bags and bags under their eyes

 

I am with old fish you would be seeing some affects by now. I bet the cloudiness is from a bacterial bloom. But a large water change isn't going to hurt anything

 

Thanks for all the input. This is interesting to watch and see what happens though. When it happens to the next guy he can refer to this thread. I searched and I didn't see any other thread with this much vodka dumped into their tank. I am kinda lucky I have a fairly large water volume @ near 300 gallons.

What really grinds my gears (Peter Griffin) is I knew not to put it on the 3 amp breaker!! I remember now, I was trying to put the SRO Auto neck cleaner on a 3 amp, but it wouldn't fit because the plug was too large. I swapped them at the last minute and forgot.

Visibility down to about 20".
0 casualties. Fish seem happy and not stressed.
Skimmer cup is about 3/4 full with the greenest stuff I've ever seen it pull out. (trying to run it wet too).
All hammer corals are open as well as star polyps.
Giant clam still open, looks fine.
Inverts still seem unaffected

ATS- seems to be fading/receding. I'm guessing due to food supply getting taken away by the massive bacteria bloom.

I haven't seen any white film to stringy snot looking strands yet as reported by some other vodka OD threads.

Hopes are still High!! Wife has the gun at the low ready position.

Will change 50 more gallons tomorrow when the holding tank is back up. Shoulda gotten one than makes more than 35 gpd. Got it when I only had a 90 gallon tank.

Glad to hear it is doing okay. Automation is always a potential failure point. I gave up on my RKL, but because of real system failures, not mistakes on my part (although the relay thing seems to be a design flaw whether or not admitted). When I dosed 2 part with a controller, I would only leave enough for 2 or 3 days. Kind of a pain, but I am still more reliable then any controller I've used.

 

Yea, I'm kinda thinking the same.

Update:
Well it's now about 64 hours since the incident.
Tank cloudiness is up to about 30"
I pointed the flow accelerators back into the tank so it no longer draws in air.

Turned the wave maker back on.

0 invert or fish loss.

Hammer corals seems to be fine.

The star polyp frag may have bit the dust. I haven't seen any polyps open in the last 24 hrs..

Still debating on changing another 50 gallons.
