For those of you that read my introduction, this is the next post elaborating a bit. I want to gain some experience in SW keeping. The clear solution is to start my own. I have two problems: My lease does not allow aquariums and 2, Im likely to move within a year and again soon after, very possibly from Indiana to Florida. I would love to start an aquarium maint. co. and since I'm proficient in freshwater, I could start there while gaining sw exp. somehow. This is not a question whether I should start a co. or not (IE business decisions), it's about how I can gain experience enough to include sw in my options. I don't want to offer poor service, but one idea I had was find someone with a healthy tank and no co. already servicing it and asking to help out with it for free. Like Ive stated before, I have the book knowledge on how to do it, but not all of the hands on "oh no!" Experience that is vitally important to successfully keeping any aquarium, especially a reef tank. Thanks!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I suggest looking to local reef clubs, volunteering to hang with the maintenance guys/gals at the LFS.

I suggest the link below to help you with the common acronyms:

Next the "new to the hobby" forum here on 3reef:

Try some books like The Reef Aquarium volume 3.

Reefs can be as easy as you want and they can be very complicated. It's just like everything else in life you got to get out and do it. Books are a fantastic resource but nothing beats 1st hand.

Take everything with a grain of salt, no one knows it all and there is more than one way to skin a cat, avoid those that think it's their way or failure.
