    Good Morning All,

My 90 gal. completed cycling about 3 weeks ago. I have since then, introduced 2 juvenile Ocellaris clowns, 2 Blue Mushroom Polyps, 2 leather corals (1 Cabbage and 1 Colt), 1 Green Zoanthid and 1 Star Polyp. The other day I purchased a Galaxea (Fasciularis) coral. All the LFS person told me was to not place it too close to other corals. So, I placed it about 3'' down and 6" away from the Star Polyp. The next morning, the Star Polyp would barely open. I suspected the new Galaxea was somehow the culprit. I went back to my LFS and was then informed about how aggressive these corals are. When I got home, I placed the Galaxea in the sand bed as far away from everything as possible. I went on line (You Tube) and saw a video titled "Galaxea at night" and saw just how far the "Sweepers" of the Galaxea went and was now sure that these sweepers attacked the Star Polyp. I am going to keep it. Can anyone tell me the best way to care for this particular coral and protect the other corals in my tank?

Exactly what you allready did. keep it far enough away that the tentacles cant touch any other corals.

If you place it in a strong current its tentacles will not extend as much. If you place it in a low current the tentacles will extend as far as it possible can stinging anything and everything with in reach of it. I keep mind right under a power head to prevent its tentacles from sting corals close by. Hopes this helps.

Thanks Slowleak and The Fisherman. I did exactly as you both suggested. I moved it as far as possible from any other corals and, Fisherman, I was able to place it under the power head (MP-40).

    Thanks Again,
