Does anyone have experience with these ballasts? Here's my problem I bought two of these in September and just yesterday I got them operational, kind of. When I plug in the ballast it is hit or miss if it will fire the bulb one time it will then the next two or three times nothing happens. The bulbs were used for three months on Icecap ballasts before the icecaps were destroyed when my basement flooded. I called the place I bought the galaxy ballasts from and they said I can send them back but if there is something that I'm missing I would like to try that first. Any thoughts on why it is hit or miss?

Honestly, if your ballasts both fried, there is a possibility they fried the bulbs too.

Do you have any old bulbs you can try in them?

I use the Lumateks and have never had an experience like yours.

I haven't had that issue. Are you sure it isn't a bad socket, or loose wire etc... ?

I thought it might be a loose wire because I had to switch out the power cord to each reflector. I have taken apart both reflectors several times everything seems tight and w to w and b to b. what gets me is that sometimes it works and other times nothing. It is like the ballast reset takes an hour after I unplug it and can plug it back in. The icecap I had only took about 15 minutes to reset after the power tripped. I wish I had someone around that knew their lights and ballasts worked so I could put my parts in to see what works and what does not. I've spent hours trying to figure out where the problem is. Thanks for your thoughts

Thanks for the offer but I found a way to test to test the bulbs on another ballast with the same fixture and both worked. I put the galaxy ballasts on a timer and so far only the one fires consistently, must have been trying to refire the ballast to soon, I guess the one ballast will have to go back. Have not had to much time to do anything more with it because I had change my fuel pump in my Trailblazer, the lines on the pump rusted and started shooting gas all over the place.

    Thanks for everyones input.
