Garlic

I have heard good things about adding Garlic to your food to promote eating and help prevent ich. Do you need to use special produced aquarium garlic or can you use stuff from a health food store? I have some soft gel caps and have been poking a hole in them and squeezing the "juice" out and soaking my food. Good idea or not?

That is fine just make sure that the Constance of the gel cap is just garlic and it does not contain any oil's ...JMO

That would be the sane and less $$$ way. I think a lot of people do the gel cap thing. It's about 1/10 of the cost of garlic from Kent.

Hehe....I am assuming you do not have ich!!!! LOL!! ;D

Is there anything wrong with the garlic in my frigde? Can I just crush that up?

Yes you can that is what I use you just want to get it as fine as you can I use a small food processor with a little water added.... John

 

I have taken some advise and used fresh garlic, squeezed it out with a garlic press, let the juice and the little parts of garlic soak in some tank water for 5 minutes and then soak the fish food in the garlic water for another 2 minutes. Seems to be working.

 

Formula foods now puts garlic in their pellets and frozen foods.
