I wouldn't give them the chopped garlic that we use!! They will not eat it unless you chop it up very, very fine or press the oil/liquid from the clove and then soak the food in it!
Their are flake and pellet foods that contain garlic(2%) in it to add garlic to your food and it is also more convenient!

yeah its fine. i mix mine with frozen and let it soak in for a few min. then feed. i would just use fresh sqeezed garlic cloves alot cheaper than the stuff sold at fish stores. and im not completely positive but im pretty sure that only by using freshly crushed cloves you get a reaction between to chemicals in the garlic cloves, when the cloves are crushed, sqeezed these combined chemicals create a reaction, the product of the reaction is what is actully the part of garlic that contains the benificial properties that you seek, and this is what also gives off the pungent garlic smell.

if you want exact names of these chemical i can find the link maybe somewere

Squeeze or press the garlic cloves and offer the food soaked in the juice from the concoction!

becareful because the oil that the chopped garlic is sold in is olive or some other form of vegetable oil and not suitable for your tank!! I think some of it is stored in regular water though, which is better to work with!
Best to get the fresh clove of garlic in the produce section and press it yourself without possibility of adding oil to your tank other than the pure garlic extract!

Allicin is the compound released when garlic is crushed. It is the chemical responsible for garlic's smell and taste. It's short-lived, though. Once crushed, it's best to use the garlic juice quickly.

you could do cloves or get 100% garlic powder from the grocer, just make sure there's no additives like salt and what not.
