Soaking food in garlic helps give fish extra vitamins and nutrients that keep them healthy. You can buy garlic extreme from most LFS, or you can just get finely minced garlic from the grocery store.

It is also used to stimulate their appetite. So if you have a new fish or one that is sick, stimulating its appetite can help to acclimate it and keep it strong enough to fight off disease.

I use the Garlic Xtreme. It comes with an eye dropper and I will usually put a couple of drops per frozen cube of food and let it soak in while the food thaws. When I put it on nori, I just run the dropper over it, giving it a couple of drops and let it sit for a little bit. Yes, I believe you could probably put a drop on a pellet. This stuff is extremely strong smelling.

I would recommend that when it comes to frozen cubes you defrost it, drain the water and then give it a few drops of the garlic. Those frozen cubes have been known to be loaded with phosphates and nitrates – I have actually read where people prefer to defrost, drain, rinse then use.
