Gate Valves Safe to Use

Need to buy a 1.25inch gate valve. Looking at the red top valves. Any opition if these are safe to use? Do say imported.

Those gate valves are more than fine and FLEX is a great place to order from

 

Spears is probably the most common choice and very good quality.

I was just looking at Spears. Sounds like they're worth the extra $$.
Do you know where I can get them for a good price?

Not sure where you are located but any good landscape supply store should have them much cheaper than that. They use lots of them in commercial landscape projects and I used to buy them by the case for plumbing municipal chlorination systems.

Schedule 80 PVC is probably overkill since we have little pressure in an aquarium so don't need extra heavy duty.

 

Looked at the link. Saw Spear 1 1/4 gate valve. $65.00. $37.50 is the best I found so far. )

More than sufficient for our needs $13 for slip and $23 for threaded versions. I still think you could find them locally at a landscape or plumbing supply for less.
