Thanks for you suggestions I forgot to let you guys know the tank did come with a coralife lighting system it has 3 150w MH and 4 96w compact I hope this will be enough light I know 250 was suggeted for a tank this size but maybe it will get me by for now, power is very cheap where I live we dont have anything that uses gas in our house if that give you an idea how cheap it is over hear.

So the room I have I the back area should be fine and I shouldn't worry about front access. That would be best the room would finish out better not adding doors in the front.

as for fixing the seal I was just going to cut into the glass side of the tank so I dont break the seal that keeps the 2 pieces of glass together then just do another freash bead has anyone done this before and how did it work out for you Thanks again for your help.

Get polarized shades, and a laptop. Put the laptop in the tank on a white blank screen. Look for distinct lines in the glass, much like when you look at most auto glasses, specially Mercedes Benz. Its distinct. If you dont see any then its not tempered, and will drill. I drilled my 75 and with some caution and a steady hand you can drill away. I would recommend it as well. Cleaner look, no start up issues (like hob models that fail to restart, sometimes, not always)and durability.

I stained and sealed mine, but paint will do. I used spray on the top of mine too, so i did both. Get Some urethane, like Thompsons water seal or Minwax. And be generous we dont want water in our wood!

Lastly... I would stay away from PC imo... they work no doubt but todays technology, that be like settling for a VHS player over a blueray, sure itll work but there are better advancements out there. t5 is a bit more powerful and more color options.

Great job thus far on the build too! its getting closer
