so your doing a sump like mine? if so, i have some things i would change if i was to do it again. add a bubble trap at the beginning of the sump and one at the end. it would be 2 extra baffles but its really worth it. i constantly have to get the microbubbles out of the chaeto because it will float if not. its not that big of a problem, and thats really the only problem. you should get the dimensions of the skimmer your getting and make your sump to fit the skimmer. if not, youll end up like me hoping that it will fit in my intake and if it doesnt, im out of a fuge.

 

Any ideas for $100? An octopus?

your not going to find much for 100$ you can find the one i posted for a lot cheaper, their prices are a little steep. check craigslist to see if anyone is selling one used, it doesnt have to be the same one. You really get what you pay for with skimmers.

That's true. But with a sump your looking at 40+ gallons. And it keeps your tank perfecto!
