well, no. I would do about 1 lb old sand and the rest new. It gives enough seeding material to make the process fast, but doesnt give much of an ammonia reading. no matter what, there will be a spike in ammo, it may be small though.

Cool! So, should i do a water change the very next day? Also, should i break the 40 down soon, take off the filter and run in in the sw tank to establish it and make the move easier?

In this case, because livestock will be in the tank and you don't seem to have a temporary environment for inhabitants, I would suggest keeping up with regular water changes (perhaps doing one, a few days after the switch, if your water parameters are high).

While the water column holds very little actual bacteria, I used half the water from the old tank when I set up the new one. This should help in limiting any ammonia spike you may have (as your parameters will already be low).

Cool! Ill do one in the next several days.

Should i try to save as much water as possible?

Also, just went to the lfs. Asked if they would take the FW fish and he said yes. The best thing was..they had EVERY ANGEL POSSIBLE!!!! ohhhh it was awesome

Are you ready for me to blow your Mind? Keep the 29 up, plumb the 29 and the 40gb to a central sump, have the 40gb as a fowler and 29 as a reef. BOOM! Mattias strikes again!

Hahaha!! Awesome idea..but i have a couple problemos

1.cant have both tanks next to eachother downstairs, and upstairs i dont want 2 in jacks room.

    2. Im broke, cant start another tank lol

    3. A big point of this is that i just want 1 tank..less work and the thing would be sick.

Haha i like the idea though! I could maybe get an eel!!
