    Ok, i think i have a theory as to why our salinity is bad, atm 1.021.

    How long do you all wait after adding salt to the PWC bucket to test it? If the salinity in the bucket is say 23 after several gours of mixing, ill add more salt and test again 20 min later. Is this too soon? Am i getting bad readings because of this?

    The SG shouldnt be dropping. Im doing top offs when needed and everything.

    Oh no, when i say "my waters at 23" i mean its at 1.023. I just dont like to say it each time haha

    oh, ok. 1.023 is fine. You should of course shoot for 1.025 if you can, but your corals will most likely do fine at 1.023 as long as it is stable. I had a reading of 1.021 the other day, and all of my softies were looking great. I have been adding 1/2 cup of salt a day to bring it up slowly though, and now I am at 1.0245 roughly. I will do this one more time tomorrow and go from there.

    What are you adding the 1/2 cup of salt to? 1 gal of water?

    My question in the prior post is, how long after adding salt to the bucket for a pwc should i wait to test sg for an accurate reading?
