sorry no pics yet as i have been trying to sort out my hood!

i will try it tomorrow if i can get the thing working....

the wavebox is......well to put it bluntly....fecking wonderfull!!

my tank is only 4' and i was worried that it would not make a noticable wave....... but a little tweeking of the controler and slight adjustment of the driver i now have just over an inch and a half wave that moves everything (even the fuge) in a gentle rocking motion that everything in the tank just loves...

i think it makes everything seem a little more natural if you know what i mean?

its great just sitting there getting hypnotised and seeing all the detritus slowly move its way to the overflow, after feeding the limited corals and other weird inverts that are growing on my rock ( i have a lot of wormy things that lay rather large "spiders webs")

i will admit it is quite alot of money.......but ive seen people spend more on several powerheads (honestly the staple items cost four times as much over here than they do for you....roll on free trade with the US) which in my book just dont cut it like this awesome piece of equipment.......

a must for anyone how does not spend enough time watching their tanks, as this draws you to it as soon as you enter the room... i even have kids looking in through my window and pointing at it!

Do you have to lower your water line allot because of the wave motion? Do you see the water line waving about... when i checked out the videos it was cool but can get you sea sick pretty quick :-X :p

once you get used to it , and you see how all your livestock benefits then you dont get sea sick at all (but ive always loved the sea!)

as to the drop in the water line... it all depends on the size of the wave you want.. but i have only dropped the water in mine by about a centimeter below the top of the box.

but i think our tanks are a little different to yours so i can see the waterline move (but personaly i like it) because we have such stupid braces and coverglasses and more braces.. so i have had to drop a little more water than you will have to , which you can conceal with trim if you dont like to see the top of the wave.

    Too cool. Thanks Levi. 8)

    1.5" wave! That sounds nice.

Being mechanical, what kind of maintenance do you have to perform on it. Does it mention it in the manual?

its just the same as any piece of equipment, you need to clean it periodically (i think it is every six monthts) just like a powerhead, take it apart and wash it.

i check mine every week to make sure nothing has found its way in, but all is fine after about three weeks.

just a note... to fine tune it and get the best wave i got the best i could out of the controler and driver then reduced the water just a fraction and it went from a little wobble to my wave....

My chromis have come out (used to live in the LR), the "SOAB" of a humbug damsel has completely changed and now does not bother a thing, and generally their colour has deepened and improved.

i have also seen an increase in movement of critters within the live rock... they come out without a care in the world1
