    which one is better? i have a $100 gift card to petco and i can get one of these.

    Just at a glance, id go with the coralife since its more powerful and has seperate switches for actinic and daylight

    I would always go with T5 over Power Compact. You have a lot more bulb options with T5 and it has been proven to be superior in every way, while PC's are being phased out.

    If you are trying to set up a reef I would honestly sell that giftcard and save up some more $ to get a really good quality fixture. Brands like Aquatic Life, TEK, ATI. Although more expensive, it would be a much better investment in the long run.

    I would go with the T5HO, bulbs last longer, have greater penetrating power, produce more PAR and there is a much greater selection of replacement bulbs which will improve the output over the stock bulbs.

    Totally didn't realize the coralife was a PC fixture. I'm at work and half read that. I agree with the others, t5 all the way

    PCs are old technology. T5 is much better.
