I am going to be ordering clams from FLLR and I was wanting to get a good blue color in my tank, I dont have a ton of room for maxima's but I was going to get 2 clams that stay decent size, Crocea I know dont get to big and are go into the sand and are a great blue color, I was offered a Hippopus Clam but there isnt much info but that they are "electric clams" meaning they have those stinging cells anemones do. I am not quite sure about the look though I cant find many pics of them, anyone want to give me info on em?

I'm personaly a fan of the maxima's. I think Crocea's are really pretty too though.

I think youll get more stunning deeper blues from croceas, and more brighter blues from maximas.

my crocea is either purple or blue depending on which lights are on (days or just actinics)

crocea's are rock boring. they ought to be on rock, not in the sand.

Croceas and maximas are rock dwellers. Hippopomus, gigas and derasa are sand dwellers.

With your tank you could put any clam in there . Those two might out grow your tank in a year of two.

Maximas and croceas your deffinatly gonna get the blue you might like but it might be easier for you to get like a squamosa. Easier to keep and not as much light requirements.

yeah I think basically I am going to ask for a certain color and hope for the best, gonna ask for the crocea to be a vibrant blue or turquoise I have enough lighting for them but Am still deciding on that or a maxima but I dont know if I have enough room in the tank for them. Whats the smallest maxima clam? As for the hippopus clam I was looking into getting a greenbay packers coloration.
