Please can anyone help. I know I have posted on this subject recently but I desperately need help. Have Red Sea Max and for first week no problems with micro bubbles and then all of a sudden 2 days ago tank starts filling with bubbles. They are coming out of the 2 outlet pipes top left at back of tank. I have taken skimmer back to shop and they have replaced it for me....no difference. I have followed every link and bit of advice out there....no difference. Are micro bubbles part of cyling...why would they come out of powerhead outlets. Its not like just a few, the whole tank is filling. Please please please please help me b4 I go completely insane !!!!

First, calm down, your panicing. Dont drown in a glass of water. Most skimmers have a adjustable air line with a valve. Try either opening or closing it, which ever cuts down on the bubbles. Or get two pieces of sponges and install them right under the outputs like the pic.

Reason they are being shot out through the returns is because the returns in the Red Sea Max are side by side with the skimmer. are you sure you do not have a lose connection somewhere?

I have a similar problem. But googling "Degassing Sponge" comes back with mostly European results. What would I ask for in the States?

All connections seem ok have tried all suggestions. bubbles are escaping from skimmer and going to otlets in tank. tried sponge on them on skimmer evrywhere. skimmer is red sea prism like design if that helps. I realy do not know what to do next. I am not panicking I just dont want to hurt fish ect. £600 for what is basically a bloody washing machine !!! Ps I have tried every adjustment known to man on the air inlet. No difference

Before I went to huge skimmers I had those I took a air valve and put it in the hose that way I could control the air flow not the top doing the controlling and I found running the water pressure less also helped. If you need more help let me know I could get you some pictures.:)

Hey ricky, the only thing that I can think of is, somestimes skimmers need a " break-in " period. How long has the skimmer been running?
