this is important!!!!!!! ******* dont raise the ph to fast do it slowly over the next few days. temp also should be raised slowly your a bit low. when summer comes you will not be able to keep that temp so low and it will shoot up fast. leaving you with more sick fish.

Agreed! i should have explained that...read the bottle and dose accordingly...a sudden spike would be bad

Can't the PH hold itself? I never does PH and it's always at 8.0-8.4.

heres a great site for info and fish. this is the compatibly chart. i think it will help you when your stocking your tank. i still refer to it when im in question of if a fish will get along with another. its not easy catching a fish you put in thats causing problems. so its always best to research if the fish your adding get along first.

I know the feeling, i get distracted easily lol...and yes the PH will sustain it self normally, but in a "young" tank thats still cycling id dose the recommended ammount for the tank for 3-4 days slowly upping the PH till its at 8.4 "go slow let it grow" applies to everything...rushing to get anything done is never good

Heres a thought, start fresh. take out all but one fish, and a month from that date your tank should be, the key word being SHOULD, be fine for the addition for another fish, (you have to test of corse to be certain.) dont go crazy adding 5 fish when the tanks not even mature enough to hold 1. research as many threads on the new to the hobby board and see what others did.

What kind of filtration are you running? How much live rock do you have in there?
