Hey guys....I got a piece of rock that Is covered in shrooms. So covered now that it looks like an old wet, cumpled up t-shirt. Too many mushrooms tightly packed to each other on one rock. Does anyone have any suggestions or method to get shrooms to release themselves from their rock. I know when I got started with my tank, I had things go wrong in the tank that made some of my mushrooms release and just get tossed around I want to know if getting them to release on purpose is possible. I would like to get some of these guys to let go so I can frag them to smaller rocks. Any ideas?

This may be ridiculously easy but I am new to this and I am not sure how that is done. Literally cut them off at the base or pry them off? I wouldn't want to lose too many of the shrooms doing this.

Put them in a very low light condition for a week. They will expand and stretch up to try and get more light. Take a pair of sharp scissors and cut their foot close to the rock and then frag them.

If the disc is not damaged they should be ok, but if you are moving them to a differant rock you'll have to find a way to hold them down for a while, but still try to cut a low on the stock as possible

Do I need to keep them separate from the DT? Will they release any toxins or anything when cut? And holding them down onto a frag rock......any suggestions?

Go as low as possible on the foot.

If you don't want to frag the mushrooms, hold them down with bridal veil from a fabric store....dirt cheap.

There are no toxins with corallimorphs.

Thanks for the help....got a few off and held down. Looks good!

How long does it take to heal and re-attach to the new rock.
