tomorow i will be going to my lfs and getting two fish. they have a buy i get one free thing going on so im gonna replace the blenny that died a week or so ago. my cyano is going away patch by patch so i feel that a fish wouldnt hurt, the other fish will go into the ten gallon until i have my real fish for that and it gets out of the diatom bloom and cycle. i want pajama cardinal and a firefish, but neither one of those could live through a cycle i think. so its prob gonna be a firefish and a damsel. either a blue or white and black stripe damsel. which is less agressive?

Try to stay away from damsel if you can. They will become aggressive in small tank and not easy to catch even if you want to re-home. How about green chromis instead of damsel? Both cardinal and firefish are good choices.

i heard green chromis arent that hardy. a lot of people have trouble keeping them. if they do good then yea i would rather have one of them.

I've had chromis in the past that were very hardy. I don't know how they'd do in a 29 gallon though.

Buy one get one free!! thats sweet! Wish my LFS did that sometime. But then again I would probably have an overstocked tank and no money after that haha.

IMO Pajama Cardinals are about as hardy as they come. Mine lived through my tank crash (along with my damsel and mandarin). My Nitrates were over 160 at the time. I think you'd be fine. My firefish died in the crash, so I'd say go with the cardinal.
