I got a used fuge and it had insane amounts of silicon so I cleared it off, re-added dividers, etc. but now that I look at it I still have rock-hard silicon on the glass that a razor will not get off. Any way to get rid of it?

Razor blade is pretty much it. Use a scraper that they use to clean the paint off of glass on windows, that will make it a lot easier. Don't try to remove it all in one shot. Take it down a layer at a time.

Also the dividers are made out of glass right?

No, fuge is glass and dividers are acrylic. I Googled for some answers and tried a Vinegar/salt putty that got most of it off, I sprayed the tank out, let it air dry, and will leave it dry for a day or 2.

Do yourself a favor and a lot of headache. Don't use acrylic dividers on glass. Silicone will not adhere to acrylic.. Have you noticed that the silicone came right off the acrylic panels, but you are fighting to get the silicone off the glass.. I learned this the hard way on my 40gal sump/refuge. You can get glass dividers cheap enough, just make sure they bevel the edges on top where it is exposed to you & trim the bottom corners, so that it doesn't cut into the tank silicone & a lot easier to install.

Acrylic silicone? Ah, you are aware this it is one NOT aquarium safe & two it's NOT waterproof!

Just because it has the word acrylic, does not mean it will adhere to it my friend..

It said aquarium safe, and I got it at a fish store, check ingredients etc. and it's fine. I even tested it, pushed a bit while filled, and it held really nicely, no leaks or signs of peeling. I still will keep an eye on it and change asap. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

You sure it's acrylic silicone? Who makes it? Now I'm curious. It is not known to be waterproof and can not be underwater.

It's a generic brand, no visible name I see, but it holds really nicely.
I have to go for a bit, but when I'm back I'll check again to make sure I didn't miss it.
