I have a 90gal tank with a wet/dry that I'm going to remove the bioballs and turn into a sump. For my refugium I'm going to find a rubbermaid container or something along those lines and set it under my cabinet higher than my wet/dry. To supply the refugium I will either t off my hob overflow and put a valve on the refug side to slow flow or I will tap off a small pump that feeds my phosban reactor in the sump, that would be the easiest but will it be ok? The feed line would dump in one side of the refug then I will drill a overflow hole on the other side that will drain out into the wet/dry soon to be sump? My light will be a clip on with a swirl cf bulb from the depot. Do I have this right? Do I need baffles? How deep should the live sand be? I have gottin alot of info from this site and I just want to do this as cheap and functional as possible. ;D

Do I need baffles and is it ok to tap of the phosban reactor pump in the sump to supply the refugium? I have a ten gallon I got at wal***t but I don't know if I can drill it?

Your idea sounds identical to what I use on mine. I'll shoot you a picture...
As for the RubberMaid warning I don't know if I agree with this or not especially if you use food safe containers. You should shoot for about 10% of the water volume of your system. Any more than that and the fuge won't really have enough to "eat"
    Here's mine...

Thanks for the pics KOgle. Glad to know it will work. Can you buy the bulkheads at a hardware store or homedepot? Thanks everyone, I have my weekend project.

You might be able to get bulkheads at one of the home stores but I've never had any luck. Always ordered mine online from Premium Aquatics. FYI- I'm running a 2 inch bulkhead out of my fuge but I don't know that it would need to be that big.
