Well I got the tank up and running over the weekend. I will take some pics soon. I have almost 70lbs of rock in there. 10lbs live and the rest base. I have some cool things too like about 10 feather dusters and I have 4 starfish 3 that are missing some arms and one that is a serpent star a little bigger than a quarter. Well, gotta go to work!

    progress

Well, I got to take a few pics tonight. The tank has been up and running for 5 days now. I have some corals that came on my live rock. Didn't even know they were there until the puffed up and started looking healthy. I am not really sure what they are but maybe someone can give me an idea of what you are seeing. Enjoy!

did your tank go through a cycle? what are your parameters? seems premature to add all that livestock.

I didn't add any livestock it was all stuff that magically appeared off the live rock. If you read the post again you will see what i'm talking about. Unlike Playboy the text is actually as important as the pictures.

It was actually in my LFS's rubble rock tub and is only $3.00/lb. You can order it on their website too but its more expensive. www.toofishy.com I love going there. The staff is extrememly friendly and knowledgable.
Oh, and I got rid of that Berlin skimmer already. I was just playing with it to try and get a feel for how to get it going for when the tank is cycled and realized why people hate it. Plus since i'm going the HOB route that pump was REDICULOUSLY HUGE! I now have a CPR Bak-Pak to give a try. I got it on ebay as a factory 2nd for $110 shipped brand new. It has a repair done to the corner where it must have leaked not passing quality control. The cool thing is it still carries the original factory warranty. If this thing turns out to be crap i'm getting a bermuda rouge.

    its been a while

Well, its been a while so I figured I would post an update. My tank is really doing great! I have coralline algea growing like mad all over my live rock, glass, pumps, even in my refugium. I have 2 fish, a baby Hippo and a baby foxface. I also have a small cleaner shrimp. I understand these fish could get too big for my tank but my LFS has a pretty good buy back policy if I need to do that some day. More than likely I will do a bigger tank someday seeing how much I am enjoying this hobby so far. Only time will tell though. I have some kenya(n) tree coral, a nice little green star polyps coral, and some other stuff that I am not sure what it is hehe. Well heres some pics. Thanks for looking!
