Yes 2 times a day is not helping your problem. I feed once every other day. What are your water parameters? Do you test for phosphates? Also 12hrs on the daylights might be too much. Cut down to 10 or 9 and feed less, do some water changes and see if that helps.

As pgoodsell stated cut your feeding back. I also feed my fish everyother day and if I'm not using a high quality frozen food like Rod's I rinse it before feeding. Gels/binders in most frozen food = rocket fuel for algae. Watch how long your lighting and using a good skimmer will help as well. Do what it takes to get phosphates and nitrates to 0. Increasing flow to areas with cyano bacteria will help rid that along with nutrient reduction.
Also would like to mention that the sausage shaped alga in growing from the gh look alot like neomeris sp.
Don't get frustrated. Algae is way easier to get than get rid of. Just work on finding where the excess nutrients are coming from and make adjustments:)

Also I hope you what you mean by black light is the blue "Antics". True black light are very bad for fish tanks. :)

from my experience, cutting down your nitrate and phosphates will help and you can also grab some red leg hermit crabs they will munch on the cyano too.

If you look at the care sheet for most fish they say to feed twice a day. Except for a few this is not necessary. What kind of fish do you have.

It's a tough solution, especially if you have fish that need to eat daily(or more often). I'm overstocked, probably overfeed(since I have anthias which need food 2-3 times a day), so am in a similar position. Basically, I skim the hell out of the tank, have two fuges with lots of macro & mangroves, run GFO and carbon(seperately) all the time, have a big CUC, and do 25% water changes every two weeks. Still not perfect(even though my PO4 and NO3 read zero) but I stay ahead of the bad stuff. Just takes a lot more work than those who aren't overstocked and don't overfeed...

In general though, if you can cut back feedings, do it! and if you can cut back lights, do it!

    Good luck!
