    So i have had my star for a year now and I came home on lunch and he was nom nom noming on my pulsing xenias i just got this weekend. So he must depart from my tank :(

    Any ideas on a good star to get for replacement?

    Yeh, they are not reef safe.

    Brittle or serpent star maybe.

    umm this gives you a great chance to do a Species only Harlequin shrimp tank ;)

    but whats the tank size?

    If wherever you got that chocolate starfish from told you it was "Reef safe" you better find a new place to shop....,

    Just avoid the green brittle stars, they are known to become fishermen.

    blue linka, sand sifter star, pink blue sea star. all are fine with my xenia

    I love my sand sifter star. Between him and my Watchman Goby they cleaned and are keeping me sand spotless clean. The Star is very cool to watch him move about the tank and in the sand.

    thank you for all the input and i knew it wasnt reef safe but only had fish and live rock when i got him. but a sand sifting star sounds good do they get big?

    No problem... Sand sifting stars are cool but you rarely ever see them..
