Oh my god...that's what that was? So when they sting, they shoot out tons of little tiny "pieces of glass" (for lack of better word)?

Yeah Jason I got the same thing. We didn't have any bristle worms though...? It took forever to get them all out with tweezers!! They were like tiny clear barbs.

I've read that if you blow up with a bee or a mosquito sting, you're most likely to blow up from any sting in your tank. Guys PLEASE be CAREFUL, someone might have an allergic reaction it a sting. If I'm not doing a water change I try to wear gloves. It's not easy to pick up that coral that fell with gloves on.

When/if you touch a bristleworm, the "bristles" on the worm embed themselves in your skin and stay there. It feels just as if you had touched fiberglass.

It is possible, It depends upon your sensitivity and if there are any breaks in the skin.
I don't claim to be the expert, certain types emit a toxin that can put you in the hospital or worse.

Trying to put seaweed in a clip yesterday and my Stars and Stripes Puffer tried to take a little nip of my finger. Didn't hurt but I jumped about halfway across the room and splashed water all over my chest. :tongue4: Kids were laughing at me so hard! This is a great hobby!;D

When I had to work around my carpet anenome.I
would put a plastic baggy around my hand up to my
wrist and secure it with a rubberband.Big Anenome. This was before they
started selling reef gloves.Accent meat tenderizer (unseasoned)
will help neutralize the sting,so I've been told.

well I have been nursing a nasty frogspawn/toadstool rash on my forearm for two weeks now. This happened when I had my arm in the tank cleaning the front glass.....now I have a nice easy blade that will do the trick, without the hives.
