The drain pipe that leads to the sump is only 1". The eight holes are 1/2" wide. The reason why I drilled two holes facing two different angles was b/c when they made that glass cover, the hole is not centered, purposely so there wouldnt be any salt creep or splashing. So I angled one hole straight down and the other towards the opening. Whats my GPM? Great question. My Mag-18 pushes 1800gpm minus the 6' of head pressure, I believe its about 800-1150gpm. As far as the felt filter pad, I dont use it anymore, too much maint. and it was killing my ph. I only use a poly pad after the refugium. I left the egg-crate there. Hope that helps.

It does help, thanks! One thing though ... what I meant to ask was, what's the diameter of the horizontal pipe. And while we're at it, just roughly, how long is it? My computer is acting funny and won't let me zoom on the pic, so it's hard to tell.

    Thanks again!
