GFCI is good - EFCI looks great

    I saw a few posts lately talking about equipment fires and the use of GFCI. I then randomly stumbled upon this TED talk wherein it introduces the concept of EFCI. The "smart outlets" by default are always off which prevents accidental electrocution as well as leaks. It will not provide power until a tagged piece of equipment is plugged in and if the equipment ever pulls more voltage than the tag designates, it automatically trips it.

    but it certainly seems like a very good system
    self turns off whe over loaded

    I bet many of us aquarists would run into that problem with all the gear we try and run off 1 or 2 power strips on occasions
