I was thinking, I have a temporary hob filter with a cabon sandwich mixed with gfo, but is it worth the 50 bucks to get a carbon/ gfo rector or is my hob filter enough? Also, are these reactores just for tanks with sumps?

    Thanks

you can get reactors with a hanging bracket so that you can hang them off the back of the DT ( not sure exactly which models have that option, but worth searching IMO)

Yes, the reactor will give you more benefit than the mesh pouch or sandwhich in a HOB filter or cannister filter

it allows the media to move slightly, expossing more surface to the water and prevents it getting clogged or in the case of some GFO media, becoming a solid brick
