    If I get a brs gfo and carbon reactor would the gfo kill my cheato algae in my refugium?

    It may well starve it depending on how much nutrients you have.

    Only if your tank is too clean with no bioload,you constantly add phosphates and nitrates in small amounts when you feed and when your livestock poop,the gfo will help remove the phosphates and the carbon will help in removing dissolved organic compounds.The gfo itself will not harm your fuge,however if nutrients drop too low,it's possible to notice no growth or die back of algae in the fuge,but this usually requires carbon dosing to bring your nutrient levels down to what is considared ultra low or ulns.I run a reactor and have fine chaeto growth in my fuge and no algae in my tank.
